Located at the northern edge of the neighbourhood that developed following the construction of the railway line in the Saleggi area of Giubiasco, the project completes a small triangular parcel of land consisting of three plots, two of which are already built on. The autonomous geometry of this urban fragment, distinct from the fabric behind it, becomes the governing principle of the intervention. The new volume is inserted to strengthen its identity and, together with the attached garage block, defines a small internal square around which all the buildings are arranged. The building is two storeyed and L-shaped. The two wings enclose a patio that creates a more intimate and sheltered outdoor space when compared with the surrounding garden, introducing a gradation between public and private. The functional organization is clear and rational. On the ground floor, the living area is laid out across the two wings of the volume: one houses the kitchen with pantry and dining area, while the other contains the lounge and study. On the first floor, the layout follows the same principle: on one side, the main bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe; on the other, the two children’s bedrooms, with their own bathroom and a shared play area
