The intervention is located in the upper part of the village of Bosco Luganese. Following the purchase of a small adjoining annexe, the owners of this rural construction – already converted into a family home in 2010 – were able to connect the two volumes and reorganise the interior living space.
In the main building, a balcony overlooking the Vedeggio Valley was carved out between the pillars of the original rural construction. In the annexe, the master bedroom with its own bathroom was inserted on the upper floor and a small study on the lower floor. The exposed stone masonry was retained as well as the original openings that have been screened with a vertical wooden structure characteristic of the rural tradition. The original roof tiles were retrieved in order to ensure continuity with the adjoining roof of the main building.
