Lodrino is a village in the Riviera district between Bellinzona and Biasca. The area is characterised by imposing craggy mountains that bound a plain crossed lengthways by river, railway and motorway.
The design consisted of the construction of an L-shaped detached house on two levels, with the upper floor slightly raised compared to the level of the garden in order to allow direct light to the basement rooms on the lower floor.
Two structures on the roof, one above the living room and the other above the corridor of the sleeping area, shape the building and, by virtue of their windows, frame the rocky slopes of the surrounding mountains. The garden is devised on different levels which define and characterise the outdoor area.
